Can someone tell me if you have done a course their and how it was im looking to retrain
Check these out Plastering Training
Hi and welcome
They are not accreditated so you have no chance whatsoever in getting qualifications with them. I buys my venetian from goldtrowel and I seen good stuff going on their.
Iv started my course now and it is an accredited centre I'm doing an NVQ Diploma so thanks for your reply but it seems your mistaken about them i recommend to anyone who wants to become a plasterer.
Ok, well lets see how quick you get your nvq.Soo me point is when will you get yr nvq. You will not get it wiv um, they will not assess you their, they won't come out to u because funding is not there you will hav 2 pay extra, ask them, I know, and if you ain't doing more than 20 metres on a ceiling then you will be lost on site.Clairifies with them and ask them the questions.
They have enroled me and said my portfolio and assesment is not their its on site im working with a plastering frend of a frend. they didnt tell me about funding iv paid my self.
You haven't paid for it at all. So whose assessing youu onsite, have you done cscs, take itt from me you will be lost out there if it ain't done right, time served plasterers will tell you that tooo. sO HOW MUCH RENDERING YOU DOING WHAT ARE THE MIXES ALL THIS YOU NEED TO KNOW. i STILL THING YOU ARE MISLEAD.You should have your porfolio from them and you should also be having induction as I did with another centre, meet your assessor and which units you will be covering.
I have had my interview and met the assessor but after what you said i checked out their CENTRE NO :13463 and it is all good the instructors their are allso time served and professional in all areas of plastering i have learnt a lot and will be starting with my mate next week but thank you for your advice and i know i made the right choice.
As gunner said who is assessing you, because take it from me I think it aint gunna happen, the qualification alone alone cost 1500 pound and the IV who ever it is will pick up on it. Be very careful where you are I also think it's not right. As he said have you got your portfolio and if so you should have sign up papers passport, NI H & S Test done, that's what we have all done. But as gunner said, I still think it doesn't make sense. Ta
I am new to all this but i did all my checkes and you are right about the money but it is paid as you go to make it easeyer. I will keep you posted as i go but it wont finish for at least ten weeks and i cant wait to start monday practicing. after all its just a training centre like all the others. thanks mate.
All the best man. But I still think they have yourmoney and that's what they do. Lets go back to their accreditation. So You've rendered out bellacst beaded stop beaded used thermal boards for dot and dab, you know your mixes and types of sand, you know how to float out ceilings plaster over artex etc... You see my point they have mislead you and to me that's wrong. They are fibrous which you can buy from ccf. In 10 weeks you will have your nvq. Please tell us when you u get it. All the best
iv been working hard lots of skimming on plasterboard but to answer your question we done all the above and more like floor screeding, setting out arches, invisible patching, dots and screeds, background suctions, pricing, if I'm honest its hard to remember it all but surely all training centres give you this information or they said they did when i was looking to do a course I'm sure where you were trained it was just as good.
Hi get plastered. I asked if you had done much on the rendering side during your training, as for arch's, it's quite easy to template and scribe an arch, so i asked the question what size hits were you doing, and did you rollon gauge. I am picking your brains because as i have siad, and so have several other people at what point do you get your nvq. So have you done your h& s test and has your assessor been to you yet. I still believe you won't get it. The average nvq alone costs 1500 quid, you have had the training is basic Or full route. I asked this because I have been mislead before, and wouldn't like others to have the same experience. What size areas have you tackled so far. As for mixes on old brick work what would you recommend for this in the scratch and top, curious because it forms part of underpinning knowledge.
yes iv got my cscs i have put my assessor visit back until after Xmas. when i was their i did their 20 metre ceiling and a wall but now i would find that easier as for the render mixes can you tell me a bit more about the background suction are the bricks crumbling and if it needs a lime render?
Hi Get plastered in relation to what you have stated. I do know they haven't got that size a ceiling, I visited them 2 months ago looked at their fibrous side. So which Centre have you been to as apc have NOT got this. As for rendering I simply asked the mix ratios. for brick and block whether it's Lime, common or whatever....
"Yes iv got my cscs i have put my assessor visit back until after Xmas. when i was their i did their 20 metre ceiling and a wall but now i would find that easier as for the render mixes can you tell me a bit more about the background suction are the bricks crumbling and if it needs a lime render
apc do have the area but wy are you so defensive im just trying to get on.i come on this forum for advice not to start a champaign against apc when they have don nothing wrong to me nor has any other provider.
i would normaly do a scratch 4/1 waterproofer float 5/1/1 plasticiser
Not getting into fight mate, If pm me then give me your details ie phone number then we can clairfy a few things, as I said already they have not a 20m ceiling when I have seen there centre. And as I asked before to which you didn't exactly reply. So You've rendered out bellacst beaded stop beaded used thermal boards for dot and dab, you know your mixes and types of sand, you know how to float out ceilings plaster over artex etc... Well what you have so far mentioned is that having done a course that you are so experienced to which only someone from them cud answer the questions. You see my point. That to the side please pm me leave me your details and I will call you, as you cud probably come and help me on a build I have in the New Year.
Happy Xmas and New Year ti all users.
Get plastered, There have been many questions aimed at you unfortunately but i think troweller has worked you out. He asked you many questions and you still haven;t answered them Also you have mentioned other jargon to which you wouldn't know fromdoing a plastering course, and as for the nvq i still think if you arewho you are and you are genuine then the ceiling that troweller mentioned you would have replied. Enjoy
Thank you for the complement about my knowledge but its easy to answer a questions when my mate is a plasterer plus being interrogated only made me try to be smart but all i ever needed to know is what course to do if i had got an answer sooner i may have gone elsewhere on recommendation but that's life and I'm happy sorry that your not happy new year.
