Question Plastering over brickwork

Hi i was just wondering if i can plaster over brick work that has been painted ,i have removed plaster board from my kitchen to find it has brick work
behind it ,also how do i do it and how do i prepare it do i just skim it or do i need to bond it ect.i need to tile my kitchen .thanx

If the paint is solid you could use thistle bonding but apply a coat of pva first and let it go off.

Dry line with plasterboard would be my preference so it speed up your tiling
